Press Release
Joint Collaboration between Allied Methanol and Tecnicas Reunidas on developing an integrated methanol and blue ammonia plant in Western Australia.
02 November 2022
Weโre pleased to announce that ๐๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ๐น (AMPL) and ๐ง๐ฒฬ๐ฐ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ป๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ have recently signed an agreement to develop an integrated methanol and blue ammonia plant in Western Australia.
๐ง๐ฒฬ๐ฐ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ป๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ will develop the front-end engineering design (FEED) of the project once the funding approvals are finalized. The proposed plant configuration will enable carbon emissions to be reduced by half compared to traditional technologies.
The signing marks a pivotal step in this project, providing Australia with its first large-scale Methanol Production facility. The facility will be located in the Northern Territory, Australia.
The current design sees the facility producing 1,350 MTPD of Methanol Grade AA and 415 MTPD of Blue Ammonia.
The completion of this design will ensure Allied Methanolโs Project continues through to complete project execution. This landmark project will provide significant employment opportunities to the region and create a locally available energy source while reducing carbon emissions for Australia.
